Description [Abstrak] : The research was distributed by the phenomenon of the high level of play online games among the students especially students who are still sitting on the bench the first secondary schools indirectly will influence the students emotional intelligence.The purpose of this research to know the relationship between emotional intelligence with online gaming addiction on the students in SMP YPS (Yayasan Pendidikan Samarinda). This research consists of two variables: the dependent variable specifically the addicted to online games and independent variables, the emotional intelligence.
    The technique of determination of the sample by using a sample of purposive sampling. The sample in this study are students in SMP YPS (Yayasan Pendidikan Samarinda. There are 56 samples the students. The Data analysis technique were used is the method of analysis product moments correlation test.
    The results of this study showed that there was no relationship between the emotional intelligence with online gaming addiction on the students in SMP YPS (Yayasan Pendidikan Samarinda) with a value of r = -0.170, and p = 0.210.
