  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : The purpose of this study is to explain the reason why the US postponed the relocation of the US military bases from Okinawa to Guam, Hawaii, and Darwin in 2011-2014. The analysis uses the theory of National Interest supported by using explanative research type. Secondary data namely techniques literature review is used by the author based on the book and the internet media through some valid websites. This treaty explained that the Government of the US should be carried forward the military bases and its troops. But, after 2014, the Government of the US did not fulfill the treaty. The results of this study is to indicate that the reason for the US to postponed its military relocation from Okinawa is to achieve its national interests. The US national interests include the primary interests such as the protection of the region, state, political identity, culture, and interference from the outside.
