  • 4. Description [Abstrak] : This article aims to explain the efforts of Indonesia to handle illegal fishing within the framework of the AMF (ASEAN Maritime Forum) at the Indonesian maritime border. This type of research is descriptive, the data analysis technique is qualitative and uses secondary data sourced from the internet and library research. The problem will be analyzed by the theory of regional cooperation by K.J Holsti and Hans J. Morgenthau and the concept of maritime security by Scott Burchil and Makmur Keliat. The results show that in solving maritime problems, especially here, illegal fishing must go through a strong maritime cooperation framework because Indonesia is here a victim of illegal fishing. Based on this, the AMF encourages maritime cooperation by producing recommendations that lead to bilateral and trilateral maritime cooperation with neighboring countries directly adjacent to Indonesia. In addition, Indonesia also makes a form of internal policy, namely the making of marine law and also facilities and infrastructure to handle maritime crime.
